About

charlieontravelStranger on Film is a one-man band film blog totally written, edited and generally run like a not so well-oiled blogging machine by me, Charlie Marchant.

I started the blog as a means of whiling away valuable time at uni/grumbling about blockbusters back in July 2011. I try to something vaguely articulate and vaguely academic about visual media, though sometimes it doesn’t turn out that way.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 BA English degree, and undertook a whole heap of internships. I interned as a Marketing Assistant at City Screen (Picturehouse Cinemas’ Head Office) and as a Runner for BBC Films. When I’d had enough of working for free, I moved to Taiwan and taught English for a year. I am now travelling as much as possible and looking for work as a freelance writer and editor.

If you want to talk to me now you’ve read my awesome bio, then you can find me online at my more permenant travel blogging home, Charlie on Travel. I’m also available on a variety of social media channels – some more often than others.
